Champz Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 September 2026
Champz ("we", "us") operates the Champz mobile application, the website champz.me and the related services (together, the "Service"). This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, how long we keep it and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to this policy.
1. Who we are
Champz, Doha, Qatar. Contact for privacy matters: info@champz.me.
2. Data we collect
- Account data: name, mobile number and/or e-mail address, date of birth, gender, playing position, profile photo and the one-time codes we send to verify your phone or e-mail.
- Activity data: matches, tournaments and court bookings you create or join, teams, scores, statistics, goals-of-the-week votes, waiting-list requests and in-app chat messages.
- Payment data: wallet balance, top-ups, transfers, booking and tournament payments. Card details are entered directly with our payment provider SkipCash and are never stored by Champz; we receive only the payment status, amount and a transaction reference.
- Device and technical data: device push-notification token, app version, device type, IP address and diagnostic/crash information.
- Location: your approximate or precise location, only when you allow it, to show nearby courts and matches. You can withdraw this permission in your device settings at any time.
3. Why we use it
- To create and secure your account (one-time codes, session tokens, fraud and abuse prevention).
- To run the Service: organising matches, tournaments and court bookings, team management, chat, statistics and notifications.
- To process payments and maintain your wallet and payment history.
- To send service messages (booking confirmations, match updates, security alerts) by push notification, SMS or e-mail.
- To keep the Service reliable and safe (diagnostics, crash reports, security monitoring, rate limiting).
- To comply with legal obligations, including tax and payment regulations.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with providers that help us run the Service, under contracts that limit their use of it:
- SkipCash (Qatar) – payment processing.
- Google Firebase – push notifications, crash reporting and real-time chat storage; Google Maps – maps and location features.
- Infobip – SMS delivery of one-time codes and service messages.
- Twilio SendGrid – e-mail delivery.
- Amazon Web Services – hosting and backups.
Other players see the profile information that is part of the game: your name, photo, position, team and statistics, and the messages you post in a match chat. Venues (courts) see the booking details needed to host your game. We disclose data to authorities only where the law requires it.
5. How long we keep it
Account and activity data are kept while your account is active. Payment records are kept for the period required by Qatari financial regulations. Technical logs are kept for a short period (typically up to 14 days) for security and troubleshooting. Backups are retained for up to 90 days.
6. Your choices and rights
- Access and correction: you can view and edit your profile in the app.
- Delete your account: in the app open the Menu and choose Delete Account, or e-mail info@champz.me from your registered address. Deletion removes your profile and personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep by law (for example payment records).
- Notifications: manage push notifications in the app's notification preferences or your device settings.
- Location: withdraw the permission in your device settings.
- You may also ask us for a copy of your data or object to a specific use by e-mailing info@champz.me.
7. Security
We protect data with encrypted connections (HTTPS), authenticated API access, access controls on our servers and databases, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a breach affecting your data we will notify you as required by law.
8. Children
The Service is intended for users aged 13 and over. Younger players may take part only through an account created and managed by a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect data from children without such consent; contact us if you believe we have.
9. International transfers
Our providers may process data outside Qatar (for example in the European Union or the United States). We rely on their contractual safeguards and security certifications for these transfers.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with an updated date and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
